Respond to the question: Continuous Variable Pure Strategy Equili?

09/26/2002 06:27 PM by Ashley; Continuous Variable Pure Strategy Equilibrium
Hi! I'm studying game theory and working on solving a problem involving pure strategies that are continuous variables. I understand how to do this in the general form, but the problem involves 3 players picking numbers with each wanting to be the closest to the average of all 3 numbers. I know how I would do this if each player wanted to pick the number that was exactly the average, but how does this change the game if the player wins by just being closest? Please help! I will really appreciate it. [Manage messages]
