My company is in a real-life game and I would appreciate any references to suitable reading material that might help develop a strategy. The situation:

A competitor is exiting the market and intends to auction his stock, we do not need this stock but do not want other companies to acquire it at low cost and then use this advantage to undercut us. There are a small number of interested bidders (probably only 2 or 3 including us) and we know each other reasonably well.
