Respond to the question: PD with an umpire the Musharaf Game?

06/20/2004 06:27 AM by Nadeem Haque; PD with an umpire (the Musharaf Game)
Suppose a repeated PD has an umpire that threatens to stop the game when both players do not cooperate and force a cooperative solution. This is the case of benevolent dictator! Could also be the case for US intervention in Afghanistan and Iraq. Sadam and opponents locked into bad situation and the US comes in as an external umpire to stop and start the game anew?

Does the benevolen dictatroship not have an incentive to run away with the game even when they are cooperating?

Form this can we derive Incentive compatible solutions for such outside agents? [Manage messages]
