The Economic Theory Center serves to support research in economic theory at Washington University in St. Louis. It sponsors research-related activities such as outside speakers, visitors, and conferences, as well as serving to promulgate research conducted by center members. There are many topics in economic theory supported by the Center, including game theory, decision theory, behavioral economics, general equilibrium theory, and mechanism design. A sampling of topics includes repeated games, learning in games, auctions, contract theory, voting, reputation, information, unawareness, signaling and recursive equilibria. We also support experimental research that is tightly linked to economic theory. The Center is an interdisciplinary unit drawing members from both the Olin School and Arts and Sciences, and includes macroeconomists and experimentalists as well as economic theorists.
